timbr

proximity based
midi controller

'timbr is a midi-controller using visual and auditory language.'

timbr is an interactive LED box and midi controller reacting to movements without touching. It gives audiovisual Feedback dependent on positions and movements of objects in front of it. It is a project of my sixth semester studying Interactive Media Design which was realised during the elective physical interaction. The idea was to find a new way of interaction in terms of doing music and using visual language as feedback. timbr surrounds the user with several ambient sounds he can combine and use as he wants, so he can create is own piece of art and strich off everyday life. The realisation of timbr took part in Arduino, Processing and Ableton. In order to stabilize the curcuit, a custom pcb was created and implemented.
